Villa's Washington Factory
Villa today operates from two sites in the UK. Manufacturing is based at
a 60,000 square foot site in Southwick, Sunderland, UK, with the Head
Office and Distribution Centre located at a 100,000 square foot premises
in Washington, Tyne and Wear, UK, which became operational in 1997.
Since 1997, Villa has invested over £4 million in expansion plans which
has enabled the company to increase and modify production capacity to match
customers’ needs and become a major producer of soft drinks and spring
waters, supplying over 60 million bottles of product per annum mixed between
established brands and customers own label products. With the addition
of a third production line in 2006, Villa has the potential to increase
this to over 100 million bottles per year if required and if continental
shift working over weekends was introduced, then this would be even greater.
Experience
Villa Soft Drinks is an independent soft drinks company with a tradition
of producing premium soft drinks and giving dependable quality and service,
having been manufacturing soft drinks for over 100 years, and spring waters
since 1993. The success of the company has been based on the simple rule
of putting the customer first by giving a personal service that exceeds
the customer’s expectations and working in partnership in order to
develop business for mututal benefit.
Villa and the Future
As a forward thinking and innovative company, Villa utilises its links
with flavour houses and marketing experts for research, helping to gain
an insight into the requirements of the future consumer. The company also
regularly monitors worldwide publications to look out for new trends in
overseas markets, in order to ensure new consumer demands are anticipated.
Villa also works very closely with packaging suppliers to keep up to date
with technology and create cost-effective solutions for the developing
market.
Continual investment in plant is being made to ensure equipment is up to
date together with training in order to ensure we maintain a quality work
force to support the needs of the business in meeting customers’
expectations.
Products
Villa produces a wide range of products under private labels for many well-known
high street chains in addition to their own brand names. These have grown
as part of the business but more recently Villa has also acquired brand
names from other manufacturers who have ceased trading. Products the company
now produces include Hadrian Spring Waters and Hadrian Clear flavoured
spring waters, HC Kids, Villa carbonates, Gizzmo and V33 still and carbonates,
and Crystal Juices.
